Mounts exist in Nodusfall — confirmed by hands-on previews, not just trailers. What's less settled is how deep the system goes: the full roster, abilities and acquisition are still unannounced.

Confirmed: riding creatures in the demo

Two independent gamescom press previews describe the same scene:

• 4Gamer: players "rode a horse-like riding creature (騎乗生物), looking over the scenery as they headed to the battlefield" — and later chased the fleeing Qiongqi on riding creatures after it broke off the fight.
• DenFamiNicoGamer: the demo opened onto an open landscape the player crossed straddling a horse-like riding creature before reaching the fight.

So mounts are part of core traversal, and the Qiongqi contract includes a mounted pursuit segment. Whether they do anything in combat is not shown in any preview we've read.

Confirmed (via dev FAQ): appearance customization

HoYoverse's developer FAQ (Famitsu) described the game's cosmetic monetization around character appearance — outfits, hair, accessories — and stated mounts are among the customizable items. Treat that as the official framing: cosmetic customization includes mounts, consistent with the no-gacha, cosmetics-only model.

What's still unknown

• The full mount roster — one horse-like creature is shown; nothing else is named.
• Mount abilities or combat functions (if any) — unannounced.
• How mounts are obtained — quests, drops, crafting, or shop? No official word.
