Nodusfall's Official Q&A: All 10 Questions Answered

✦ Last updated September 28, 2026

Source: official @Nodusfall Q&A post, September 23, 2026 (~200K views). This is HoYoverse's most detailed official communication since the Gamescom reveal — below is every question and answer, organised by what it changes.

HoYoverse answered ten community questions outright — the first time the studio has gone on record about team size, monetization, platforms and the game's cosmology in one place. Several answers correct assumptions that press coverage had left open.

The answers that change what we know

Characters are not gacha — official

"Rest assured, characters in Nodusfall will not be obtained through gacha pulls. Players can unlock all characters by continuing to play the game. The team is still carefully planning further details regarding monetization."

This is the strongest confirmation yet of the cosmetics-only model — though paid cosmetics pricing remains unannounced.

PC is confirmed for launch; everything else later

"What we can confirm at this time is that the PC platform will definitely be supported at launch. As for other platforms… announcements will be made through official channels at a later date."

No console commitment, no denial — see the platform tracker.

Team size is not finalised

"Regarding the maximum number of players per team and the detailed rules, we're still fine-tuning things and will share more with everyone later."

Press demos ran with four players, which is why "4-player co-op" circulated — but the official line is that the cap is still being tuned. Treat 4 as the demo configuration, not a spec.

New mechanic: "Divine Drain"

"…you can even trigger the cooperative multi-player 'Divine Drain' mechanic together."

This is the first official name for Nodusfall's team-combo system — the thing previewers described as "specialised cooperative attacks at breakpoints" (hands-on roundup). Expect it to matter in boss DPS windows.

Solo play is fully supported

"We don't require players to team up. Solo players can experience the vast majority of the core content."

Consistent with the official FAQ we've tracked on the co-op page — now restated publicly.

Social content beyond combat: hot springs, duets

"Play a duet with a friend, soak in the hot springs. There's always a rhythm and a place that's just right for you even beyond combat."

The first concrete examples of the slow-life layer IGN's preview hinted at — and confirmation that Nodusfall is a service game with non-combat activities, not just a boss rush.

Divine Skills: official system name and role

"Beyond each character's basic attacks and skills, combat also features an important system called 'Divine Skills.' Think of it as a freely customizable mechanic… offense, defense, and support… In the same Boss fight, different skill combinations can lead to completely different solutions."

Matches our Divine Skills explainer — now officially framed as the core build axis.

Difficulty philosophy: low floor, high ceiling

"We don't want difficulty to be a barrier… accessible even for players who are new to this type of action gameplay, while still maintaining a high ceiling in terms of controls, coordination, and builds."

Exactly what devs told press at Gamescom (roundup).

The lore answers (new official cosmology)

Who is the Weaver?

"…the Weaver once traversed the heavens and earth as a messenger entrusted with a sacred mission, yet lost the power bestowed upon them… and fell into the mortal world."

Players are a fallen divine messenger who grows alongside companions to "rediscover and reshape themselves to establish a new world order" — see what is Nodusfall.

Who are the enemies?

"The primordial essence of creation shaped the Weavers, yet granted them no divine guidance. The gods and living beings that remained in the world were corrupted by the Mal, twisted into calamities and forming Dreadnodi… the Weavers must sever the entangled Dreadnodi."

Two new official terms: the Mal (the corrupting force) and Dreadnodi (the corrupted gods/beings you hunt). This reframes "Nodusfall" as the Dreadnodi threat, not a curse on the player.

Why mix mythologies?

"…when different civilizations' understandings of the world clash… their differences give rise to conflict—while the things they share in common become the very foundation that connects them."

HoYoverse frames the multi-mythology premise as a shared human narrative, not a crossover gimmick.
