Nodusfall Launch Prep: 8 Things Worth Doing Before Release

Nodusfall has no release date. That is exactly why this list is short and cheap: everything here is either free, reversible, or useful regardless of when the game lands. Anything that requires you to spend money or commit to a plan on unconfirmed information is deliberately in the "don't" column.

1. Pre-register — and understand what it gets you

Pre-registration is open on the official HoYoverse site. It is the visible channel for launch announcements and future beta invitations.

What it does not do: guarantee beta access. HoYoverse has not said registration equals a slot. The questionnaire is the part most likely to matter for selection. Three separate r/Nodusfall threads report the signup appearing to fail silently — the troubleshooting section here covers the four common causes before you retry.

2. Check your PC before you spend anything

Official PC requirements are not announced. Our requirements checker compares your actual CPU, GPU, RAM and storage against UE5-based prediction tiers and tells you where you stand, what your bottleneck is, and the cheapest upgrade path.

Why do this now rather than at launch: if you turn out to be below the predicted floor, you want months of shopping time, not a launch-week panic. And if you are comfortably above it, you have just saved yourself from an unnecessary purchase.

3. Pick a class early — even provisionally

The class picker recommends one of the four Gamescom demo loadouts from how you actually play. It is provisional — the full roster is unpublished and classes may not even be locked per character — but choosing early changes how you watch footage. Instead of "that looks cool", you start asking "does that fit how I play?"

4. Clear the storage now

Our working estimate is 80–100 GB+ on an SSD, and an SSD is effectively mandatory — the demo's contract-hunt loading was a known bottleneck. If your drive is nearly full, moving games off it is a ten-minute job today and a two-hour problem on launch day.

5. Set a cosmetics budget before the store exists

Nodusfall is free to play with cosmetic-only monetisation — no gacha, no pay-to-win announced. The prices are unannounced. That means the only number that currently exists is the one you decide.

Pick it now, in a calm moment, and write it down. A store designed to sell cosmetics is a much worse place to make that decision. Our price breakdown gives comparable ranges from similar games so the number you pick isn't arbitrary.

6. Line up your co-op group

Nodusfall is built around four-player co-op boss hunts, and HoYoverse has said most core content is playable solo. Both are true, which means the real question is whether you have people to play with.

Worth knowing: maximum party size is still being tuned — the "4-player" figure widely reported was a demo configuration, not a final spec. If your group is three or five people, wait for official word before assuming.

7. Read the official Q&A, not the summaries

HoYoverse's September 23 Q&A answered ten community questions directly — platforms, monetisation, party size, Divine Skills, and lore terms. It is the densest official information released so far, and most "news" you see is a second-hand paraphrase of it. We collected all ten with the original wording.

8. Separate confirmed from rumoured

The fastest way to waste money or get disappointed is to act on a rumour that has been repeated until it sounds official. Currently PC is the only confirmed platform — PS5, Xbox, mobile, cloud and Switch 2 are all unannounced. Full status per platform.

What NOT to do yet

• Don't buy hardware for a specific frame-rate target. The tiers are predictions. Buy if you need an upgrade anyway; wait if the only reason is Nodusfall.
• Don't look for a pre-order or deluxe edition. None has been announced, which follows from the game being free. Anyone selling you one is selling you nothing.
• Don't trust a tier list. Balance cannot be judged before launch. Our own characters page says no official tier list exists — treat any you see now as speculation.
• Don't pay for beta access. Beta invitations come through official channels; anything else is a scam.
• Don't plan around a release date. None is announced. Community estimates cluster in 2027, and they are estimates.
