Which Nodusfall Class Should I Play?
Personalised picker based on the Gamescom 2026 demo loadouts · last verified October 7, 2026
"Best class" questions have no real answer — it depends on how you actually play. Answer five questions and this picker recommends one of the four demo loadouts, explains how it plays, and tells you what will frustrate you about it. The full launch roster is unpublished; see the Nodusfall characters & classes page for the source detail.

The four demo loadouts at a glance
These are the four loadouts played at Gamescom 2026. They are a sample of the roster, not the complete launch list — HoYoverse has not published how many classes ship.
| Class | Role | Weapon | Best for | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Tank / DPS | Melee, block & parry | Learning fights, holding aggro, solo forgiveness | Low floor, high ceiling |
| Archer (Rapid) | DPS | Light bow, fast fire | Sustained damage, mobile play, matchmaking | Forgiving |
| Archer (Charged) | DPS (burst) | Heavy bow, charged shots | Burst windows, coordinated teams | Punishing |
| Mage | Support / DPS | Magic, healing | Team anchor, keeping four players alive | High responsibility |
How this picker scores you
- Each answer awards points to the classes whose play pattern it matches — position, tolerance for risk, solo vs group, power fantasy, and appetite for build homework.
- Points are summed across all five questions; the highest total wins, and the runner-up is always shown so you can see how close it was.
- Nothing is hidden: open "see the full score breakdown" after your result to inspect every total.
- It recommends a demo loadout, not a tier ranking. No official tier list exists, and we do not pretend otherwise.
Because Divine Skills are freely swappable within a class, your class choice matters less than your skill loadout at endgame — see Divine Skills explained.
What we still don't know
- The full launch roster — unpublished. Expect more than four.
- Official class names — Warrior/Archer/Mage are press archetypes; press also recorded Gramher, Suixi and Hexsworn. None is officially confirmed.
- Whether classes are locked per character — not stated.
- Balance and endgame role demand — impossible to judge before launch; treat any tier list you see now as speculation.

Which class should I play? — quick answers
- Which class should I play in Nodusfall?
- There is no official tier list yet — the full roster is unpublished and the Gamescom demo showed four loadouts. The practical answer: Warrior if you want to learn fights and survive solo, Rapid Archer if you want forgiving sustained damage, Charged Archer if you want burst and enjoy optimising, and Mage if you want to keep a team alive. Take the picker above for a personalised answer.
- Which Nodusfall class is best for solo play?
- HoYoverse has said most core content is playable solo. Warrior is the forgiving pick because blocking and parry give you a way out of mistakes, and Mage self-healing also holds up alone. Pure DPS builds suffer more when nobody is holding aggro for you.
- How many classes does Nodusfall have?
- The demo showed four loadouts across three archetypes — Warrior, two Archer builds and Mage — but HoYoverse has not published the full launch roster. Treat the demo four as a sample, not the complete list.
- Can I switch classes in Nodusfall?
- Not confirmed. The demo hinted at role flexibility with loadout swapping in the hub, and Divine Skills are freely swappable within a class, but whether you can change class outright on one character has not been stated.
- Are the demo class names the real ones?
- Warrior, Archer and Mage are descriptive archetypes the press used at Gamescom; separate press write-ups also recorded names like Gramher, Suixi and Hexsworn. None of these has been confirmed by HoYoverse as an official class name — see our characters page for the full list of press-used names.
